About

Welcome to Saver in the City, the imperfect, personal and hopefully entertaining thoughts and adventures of a 29-year-old trying to save money while still living the high life! Rather than write a long boring paragraph, here are answers to some frequently asked questions:

By “the City,” do you mean New York? Actually, no, although isn’t that just like New Yorkers to think the world revolves around them. Kidding (hope I didn’t just offend half my readers). Currently I live in Texas but I chose “the City” because I didn’t want to limit the blog geographically. Most saving principles – not to mention dating, life and career principles – are pretty universal so this way every young woman trying to make her way financially can better relate.

Why is your blog anonymous? I really do try to provide as many personal details as possible to give you some insight into my life, since after all that is the purpose of the blog. Unfortunately, in exchange for me being fully candid I do have to limit the information provided since some of my posts could alarm my employer, potential dates, friends and family.

If you were a character on Sex in the City, which one would you be? I like to think of myself as a combination of each of them (don’t we all?) but if I had to pick one I would say I’m closest to Charlotte. Besides the fact someone once told me I looked like her – best. compliment. ever. – I tend to play it safe in most parts of my life, whether it’s money, dating, career, etc. I do break out the crazy side once in a while, but when all is said and done I usually gravitate back to my conservative side.

I like your style of writing, how do I subscribe to your RSS feed? Wow, I’m flattered and so glad you asked! Here’s a link to sign up.
