@Beth: You’re so right, this is definitely marketing genius at work because their only cost will be the person’s $100,000+ salary + airfare and other living expenses. An advertising/PR campaign with reach comparable to what this story has already achieved would likely cost in the millions…

@Miss M: I would really love to but as Fabulously Broke wisely pointed out above, the position is contract for 6 months only. I didn’t notice that the first read around (my eyes had probably glazed over by that part because I was busy imagining myself on the beach and snorkeling) :-)

I imagine the competition will be pretty fierce for the job. I’ve been to that part of Australia and it is indeed beautiful. Are you going to actually apply? It’s worth a shot.
