Out-of-state interview, here I come!
A few days ago I blogged about an out-of-state job opportunity and whether or not I should continue on in the interview process considering the current state of the economy.
Well, after a roller-coaster Friday – involving an email from the recruiter with the budgeted salary way below what I’d expected, me sending a polite response saying I couldn’t continue on in the process but good luck with their search, followed by another email from the recruiter saying she’d mistyped the figure (hmm, I wonder) and it was actually $15k more and negotiable – I’ve decided to at least interview in person to get a better idea of the position and the company.
They’re paying for my airfare and generously they’ve allowed me to schedule my flight so that I can take the weekend beforehand to visit my parents who live just 45 minutes away. I’m definitely interested in the job, but if it doesn’t work out at least I will have enjoyed a free trip to visit my family! The interview is Monday so keep your fingers crossed for me and I’ll be sure to provide an update when I return!
