OT: Why cute underwear is key
This morning I had my annual physical and as part of the check-up they needed to take two vials of blood. I hate having my blood taken because I have small veins (or so they tell me) and I’ve had a few traumatic experiences in the past. Even so, I felt like a 5-year-old as they assured me everything would be fine and gave me a little squeezy toy to clutch during the process.
Sure enough, as soon as I saw the needle my mouth took on a metallic taste and my skin got clammy. I made it through the two vials — seriously seemed like it took forever – and let out a sigh of relief as the nurse told me I was all done. I even joked about not getting a cookie like they do when you donate blood.
As I stood at the payment counter, all of a sudden my skin got this prickly feeling and the room started to swim. And down I went…
I have no idea how long I was out but I woke up to the doctor at my head and a nurse holding my legs in the air…apparently to get the blood flow back to my head. Mind you, I was wearing a business skirt so everyone in that line of vision got a little extra show than usual at the doctor’s office today.
Guess mom was right: always wear cute underwear because you never know who’s going to see it!
